Karin Ream is currently in her tenth year as the Head Volleyball Coach at Norman North High School in Norman, Oklahoma. She teaches AP Psychology, Psychology, and Government to sophomores through seniors. Karin was born in Muncie, Indiana and has played competitive volleyball since the 5th grade. There, she was a defensive specialist for her high school team and multiple club teams including Delta Juniors, Reebok Vision, and Munciana Volleyball Club. She graduated from Delta High School in 1996 and went on to play for Indiana University's Women's Collegiate Club team where her team finished second at nationals in Tucson, AZ her freshman year. Karin graduated from Indiana University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Social Studies Education. She then moved to Norman and coached the 7th grade team at Whittier Middle School and the 16's team with Oklahoma Wind. She was hired as Norman North's Head Volleyball Coach the following year at the age of 23 and continued coaching club volleyball for Norman Impact and Sooner Volleyball Club around the Norman area. In 2005, Karin earned the Oklahoma City Coach of the Year Award and was selected by the Oklahoma Coaches Association to be the All-State Coach for the All-State Team from the west side of the state. Many players have achieved scholarships to play volleyball at the all collegiate levels under Karin, with a former player currently playing for the University of Oklahoma. Karin is also a coach with Oklahoma Charge where she currently serves as the Assistant Coaching Director. |
